Honaker Dynasty is Over!

How could u not call it a dynasty thats all we've heard for the last 4 years is how great "this bunch of boys" is goina be i was at the game lasnite and to me it looked like Honaker didnt even care i mean the only one that looked like he cared was the Daddy himself DDDDD JJJJJJ haha I mean my hats off the the Haysi Tigers who played one heck of a game i hope to see them in the Regional Championship game becasue thats where they belong

I would call a dynasty a school that is dominant in state/regional play year in and year out. Like JJ Kelly in baseball and girls tennis or Powell Valley and Appalachia in football.

Honaker made it to the region 2 years in a row thats not a dynasty at all thats not even a streak.

Okay y'all are reading this wrong...I guess I used dynasty and to the Honaker people they got it confused or something. As the Bristol paper indicated itself...This group of guys at Honaker were supposed to go far...They ruined it for Robby Colley and crew their senior year in the tournament...What I was implying was the foundation that these boys were supposed to have created was a strong, successful one. DJ Hall, Tyler Ball, Dave Mullins, and Kevin Rose were supposed to bring a state title home in either football or basketball...and their chances of that ended last night. Do not interpret this any futher that what it says. Its not that complicated.

Honaker reaped what it sowed by never playing its bench players. After Tyler and DJ went down with injuries, the players that had to step and take their places had almost NO playing time on the varsity level. That first game against Council was the most playing time our bench had gotten in their whole varsity careers combined. Also one other thing that has plauged Honaker in recent years: COACHING!! No one wants to coach at Honaker because of one man, and I don't think I have to mention his name.

I think he isn't the only one who has been disappointed with the coaches of late at Honaker, but is one of the only ones that was man enough to tell the coach to his face when he isn't being fair to the players... Coleman is a terrible coach, he doesn't know ball, he knows how to be a buddy to his players but that's it...He doesn't give any discipline and doesn't push them to their full potential...Before Coleman was Hawkins who was one of the most arrogant men that walks the earth. He was so rude to the team that he earned no respect. Honaker and Russell County for that matter don't hire on coaching ability they hire because they need teachers, and then have to fill their coaching positions therefore putting unqualified people in coaching positions, then having a hard time getting them out.
